Understanding plans

GCM has five tiers. Pick the one that fits your member count and the features you need. You can switch up or down anytime from the billing page.

Prices are USD, billed monthly. Annual billing is configured in the plans.price_annual_usd column where applicable β€” contact us if you'd like to discuss annual.

TIP

Most churches start on Free during their 14-day evaluation, then move to Starter or Growth. Growth is the most popular tier because it unlocks priority support and custom branding while still being affordable.

What each tier includes

Free

50 members, core member management, attendance, basic reports. No card required to use it indefinitely. The intent is to let small churches and church plants run the platform with zero cost until they outgrow the cap.

When you hit 50 members, GCM blocks new member creation with a clear upgrade prompt. Existing data is never touched.

Starter β€” $29/mo

Up to 500 members. Unlocks the full module set for a single campus: attendance, giving, ministries, calendar, messaging, reports, website builder. Email support, response within 1-2 business days.

This is where most single-location churches land.

Growth β€” $79/mo

Up to 2,500 members. Adds:

  • Advanced reporting β€” reports v2 with custom widgets, cross-ministry filters, per-period drill-down.
  • Priority support β€” faster response (same-day on business days).
  • Custom branding β€” logo, colors, custom email sender domain on the public site.
  • PowerSync (offline) β€” optional offline mode for the iPad check-in app and the leader mobile experience.

Most multi-ministry churches end up here.

Network β€” $199/mo

Up to 10,000 members. Built for multi-campus operations:

  • Multi-campus org units β€” N-level hierarchy (regions β†’ districts β†’ campuses β†’ ministries) instead of a flat list.
  • API access β€” REST endpoints for syncing members and giving to external systems.
  • Dedicated account manager β€” a named contact at GCM who knows your setup.

If you have more than one physical campus or you're a denomination tracking many sub-churches, you want Network.

Unlimited β€” $349/mo

No caps anywhere β€” members, staff, storage, hierarchy depth. White-glove onboarding (we migrate your data and configure your hierarchy ourselves) and 24/7 phone support.

For very large networks or anyone who'd rather not think about a member cap.

The trial

Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. You get full access from day one with no card. Around day 11 we send a heads-up email; on day 14 the trial ends.

What happens at end of trial depends on what you've done:

  • Picked a plan + entered a card β†’ subscription goes active, first charge runs, you keep everything.
  • Picked nothing β†’ status flips to expired. You can still log in, but read-write features are blocked until you subscribe.

WARNING

Your data is not deleted when the trial ends. It sits there waiting. You can come back weeks later, enter a card, and pick up where you left off β€” same members, same history, same settings.

Some plans have a different trial length (the trial_days column on the plans table). Contact us before signing up if you need an extended trial for evaluation.

Member caps β€” how they're counted

The cap counts active, non-deleted members in your org. Deleted-and-restored members count as one. Soft-deleted members in the recycle bin don't count.

When you're close to the cap, GCM shows a warning banner on the dashboard and on the members list. When you hit the cap exactly:

  • The Add member button stays clickable but shows a tooltip explaining the upgrade.
  • Bulk import refuses to process rows that would push you over.
  • The public visitor form keeps working β€” existing members still convert β€” but new visitor-to-member conversions hit the same block.

To raise the cap, upgrade your plan.

Switching tiers

Switching is one click on the billing page. What happens depends on direction.

Going up (e.g. Starter β†’ Growth):

  • You're charged the new plan's full price immediately.
  • Your next billing date is extended from your current renewal date by one billing period β€” you don't lose paid days. If your old plan had 12 days left, the new plan runs for 12 days + 1 full month.
  • New features unlock instantly.

Going down (e.g. Growth β†’ Starter):

  • The change takes effect at the next renewal β€” not immediately.
  • You keep paid features until the date you've already paid for.
  • If your current member count exceeds the lower plan's cap, you'll see a warning. New members will be blocked once the downgrade takes effect β€” existing members are never touched.

See Upgrading and Downgrading for the step-by-step.

Which plan should we pick?

Quick decision tree:

  • Under 50 members and trying the platform β†’ Free.
  • One campus, 50-500 members β†’ Starter.
  • One campus over 500, or multi-ministry needing custom branding β†’ Growth.
  • Multi-campus, denomination, or you need API access β†’ Network.
  • Don't want to think about caps β†’ Unlimited.

You can always switch later. The platform doesn't punish you for picking the wrong tier first.
